For a Friday of a long weekend we had a good crowd for Karaoke tonight. About 24 singers.
One of the reasons the crowd was good tonight was Matt. Matt leaves on Thursday to Afghanistan where he will serve his country for 10 months. His friends and family were all there tonight to sing and celebrate his service. The crowd was pretty taken with this very nice young man as well.
I can't imagine how his parents feel. To worry about your son every day for 10 months must be nerve racking. You would be so proud of him, but part of you would wish he was not going.
Anyways, everyone had a great time and everyone was wishing Matt a safe return and telling him thank you for what he is doing.
Thank you Matt.. and God speed - get home safe.
